Brian is a part time ABS Apprentice level bladesmith in Renton Washington and fulltime Director of one of the busiest ER and Trauma Centers in the state.  He has been crafting knives since a very young age, and began studying the art of bladesmithing in 2015.  Growing up in the woods of Washington, Idaho, and Montana heavily influenced his perspective on knives as a daily tool and essential companion.  He specialized in hard working heirloom quality tools that showcase both the extreme texture and structures of the forging process and the clean lines of a dedicated artisan.  He forges mainly in high carbon steels and various damascus and san mai techniques.  His standard Grizzly design has become well sought after in the hunting and bushcraft communities as a well tested and evolved design that performs in the most challenging of environments. Brian has been fortunate to be a bladesmith student under the mighty Jason Knight, and will be testing for his ABS Journey Smith certification in 2024. Brian's oldest son Taylor is an apprentice at Tortuga Bladeworks and is a talented designer and bladesmith, continually pushing the creative process in the shop.
