All of our products are carefully crafted by experienced artisans using the finest materials and techniques, ensuring that they are not only beautiful but also functional and durable.  High carbon steel knives are hard working tools but do require some care to keep in peak performing condition.

1. Carbon steel will patina with normal use but will rust if some preventative care is not taken after use.  Never put your knife away wet for prolonged periods of time, and if you are going to store it without use, it is not recommended to store in the leather sheath.  Your knife will arrive with a protective coating of Kraken Wax on the blade, handle, and sheath.  Your blade should be periodically cleaned and wiped down with a protective oil or wax to prevent corrosion from moisture exposure.  Kraken wax is an all-natural and food-safe wax that can be used on metal, wood, and leather, and is available for purchase here on our website.  Any blade wax product may be used, there are lots of good ones out there.

2.  Your knife is not a prybar or a projectile.  Your knife comes with a lifetime warrantee, free sharpening and spa treatments, but should never be abused by throwing or as a prybar.

3.  Sharpening - There are endless sharpening solutions on the market and I have some recommendations I prefer for customers at different price points and skill levels.  Keep your knife sharp for optimal performance and safety - a dull knife is a dangerous knife as well.  Your knife comes with free lifetime sharpening and spa treatments with only you covering shipping round trip, so take advantage of that as often as you like.
